Sad News
We have learned that Michael Barnard passed away suddenly on 14th January.
Mick came to Stanton Clubhouse, along with his wife, Val, from the Manor Bowls Club.
He was a good club member, and skipped for us whenever possible.
Eventually Mick, and a few other members, went to play for Shaftesbury Bowls Club in Long Eaton as it was more convenient.
His funeral will be held at 2.30pm on Friday 9th February at the Trent Valley Crematorium, Aston on Trent.

Site Development
Ben Fleetwood is our liaison for the progress of demolition etc.
On Tuesday 19th September the green will be shielded from the demolition of the 'old canteen' or
- as it was previously known - the Clubhouse (which is different from the Portakabin we now know as our Clubhouse).
Also, our utilities will cease from the present supply. We will still have access to water from elsewhere on the site,
and we are being provided with a generator so that we can have heating and lighting.
UPDATE: The demolition work has been delayed until the New Year.
Bob is continuing to liaise with both Verdant (our landlords) and Erewash Borough Council regarding planning.

We are now in possession of a defibrillator.
As it is a portable one, it is kept in the Pavilion, to which every member has a key.
Thanks to Pete Evans for organising this.
